VISIONARY EXPERIENCE SUMMER CAMP:
Weaving Yarns, Telling Tales & Creating Chronicles

This summer at the American Visionary Art Museum, we will be hosting our first ever Visionary Experience. For three consecutive weeks in the month of July we will be opening up our doors to middle school students for this opportunity to enjoy experiences with Visionary artists, fascinating artwork, and tons of hands-on creating and collaborating in puppetry, theatre, writing, visual arts and more! Spend time with AVAM staff and our visiting Visionary Artists to create individual and group works relating to the ideas involved in the Telling of Tales. The three weeks (which can be experienced individually or as a whole!) will conclude with a Visionary Salon where students will be invited to showcase their creations and performances. Families and friends will be invited to spend the day at AVAM and immerse themselves in the students' Visionary tales.

Week 2: July 15th-18th Resident Artist: Annie Howe of Nana Projects

Salon: Saturday, July 26th

Cost Per Student (museum members): $200 each week; or $550 for all three weeks

Performing Arts Adventure Camp(Ages 8 - 13)
Nana Projects Parade School Jr.
Students make hats, costumes and processional objects during this three week program.
Performing Arts Adventure (PAA) camp nurtures a student's desire to build their theatrical talents in all aspects of the performing arts. Like all of our Summer Learning Adventures camps, PAA offers high quality instruction. Students will learn the techniques of singing, acting, dancing, costuming, make-up, staging and critiquing, then come together for a staged musical performance of theater scenes. Roles will be given based on the student's desire and willingness to work, not on skill level. The camp will culminate in two end-of-class performances. Students may take any 3 of the 4 weeks but in doing so, they may not be able to fully participate in all performances. Attendance during the final week of camp is highly recommended. Payment plans must be set up with our summer registration specialist, Donna by calling 410-918-4243; a 2nd sibling discount is offered.
